SBS has been selected as a finalist for the BBSC Awards 21, which will be handed out on 26 November at a gala at the Azkuna Zentroa in Bilbao. The company is one of 12 finalists shortlisted from a large number of companies that stood as candidates for this year’s awards.

The “HECO” (High-Efficiency COntact) technology developed by SBS was highly rated by the jury for its potential to help attain zero waste. This technology enables multiple heat treatment processes (pyrolysis, drying, gasification, CO2 capture, etc.) to be used to valorise waste.

It consumes up to 40% less energy than other technologies, thus reducing production costs.

This year’s Biscay Bay Startup Campus Awards will be held under the name “Climate edition: Make earth cool again”. The goal is to bring together and provide support for the entrepreneurs who are leading the environmental transition and young people who are driving action on climate matters all over the world. For two days, the BBSC Awards will bring together in Bilbao a large proportion of the Basque Country’s ecosystem of entrepreneurs in an ideal setting for sharing ideas and knowledge and developing extreme networking.

SBS is a company whose personnel have broad experience in industry, applied processes, technology development and scientific research. The company is firmly committed to quality, the environment, sustainability and R&D&i, and seeks to become a key actor in helping its customers to revolutionise waste valorisation.
