Thanks to these properties, it is used as a <span class=\"s1\"><b>soil enhancer<\/b><\/span>, <span class=\"s1\"><b>carbon sink<\/b><\/span>, <span class=\"s1\"><b>natural filter<\/b><\/span> in water treatment, and <span class=\"s1\"><b>functional additive<\/b><\/span> in the manufacturing of plastics, asphalts, or cements. Its value lies not only in what it is, but in <span class=\"s1\"><b>how it is obtained<\/b><\/span>: from organic waste which, when properly treated, cease to be a problem and become an opportunity.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><b>Where does biochar come from?<\/b><b><\/b><\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\">Biochar is produced from a wide variety of <span class=\"s1\"><b>organic waste<\/b><\/span>, making it a <span class=\"s1\"><b>flexible and highly scalable solution<\/b><\/span> for different sectors. This thermal treatment causes a transformation of the material: the volatile fraction is released, and the carbon is retained in the form of a stable, porous solid. The result is a high-value material that, in addition to offering multiple applications, <span class=\"s1\"><b>contributes to industrial decarbonization<\/b><\/span> and the <span class=\"s1\"><b>valorization of previously unrecoverable waste<\/b><\/span>.<\/p>\n<h4 class=\"p1\"><b>Uses of biochar: from the field to food and industry<\/b><b><\/b><\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul>\n<li>Biochar offers surprising applications beyond the most well-known ones. These are other <span class=\"s1\"><b>notable uses<\/b><\/span>:<\/li>\n<li class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\"><b>Soil enhancer<\/b><\/span>: improves structure, retains nutrients and water, regulates pH, and activates soil microbiota.
